This project involved the construction of a dual, two-span, steel multi-girder bridge over Turtle Creek and Norfolk Southern Railroad. The project consisted of caisson supported piers and pile supported abutments. At pier number two, 24, 36in caissons were installed. The bridge was over two Norfolk Southern tracks and one siding track with approximately 30 trains per day.

The scope of work, performed by Brayman, on this new structure included:

  • Construction of a precast, reinforced concrete arch structure

  • 275ft pile plank retaining wall

  • 150,000cy of excavation and embankment

  • Storm pipe/Drainage work

  • Demolition of existing five-span, steel bridge
