This project was a continuation of the Port Authority of Allegheny County’s North Shore Connector Project – further extending the County’s Light Rail System from underneath downtown Pittsburgh and the Allegheny River to the North Shore.
This project consisted of the construction of a dual, 14-span tub girder, steel aerial structure 1,755ft in length along Reedsdale Street in Pittsburgh, PA.
The scope of work entailed:
Installation of 128, 36in diameter caissons, 40ft in length
Demolition of the 146,000sf Miller Printing Building
2,000lf sanitary & waterline work at depths in excess of 20ft
10in Concrete Pavement Replacement
Concrete Sidewalk Replacement
Decorative Lighting, Granite Curb, and other miscellaneous road work
This project supports the County’s efforts to revitalize Downtown Pittsburgh and the North Shore’s residential areas, business districts, educational institutions, athletic and entertainment developments.
