Original Design of this project called for the complete rehabilitation of an existing 9-span multi-type steel bridge and the complete removal and replacement of an adjacent 3-span overpass bridge.

Brayman teamed with the design firm L. Robert Kimbal to propose an alternate design that would construct a New Steel Girder Bridge on an adjusted alignment that allowed for the complete elimination of both the 9-span and 3-span structures with no impact to traffic during the construction phase.

Our team was able to utilize Brayman’s specialty foundation expertise to solve various site geotechnical challenges presented by designing different sub foundation types (i.e. Caisson, Micropiles, Steel H-Piles) incorporated in the substructure elements of the New 8-Span Steel Plate Girder Bridge.
