Complete substructure removal and replacement of concrete piers 6-10, including the extraction of existing and installation of new steel bearing pile
De-erection and re-erection of five-spans of structural steel plate girders
Jacking and temporary supporting of four other spans to replace and repair existing pier caps and bridge bearings
New concrete bridge deck with associated parapets and railing 6ft in width and 1300lf in length
Reconstruction of the bridge approach roadway
The challenge of this project was the coordination with Union Railroad to maintain service to the US Steel Plant situated on one end of the bridge.
