Children's Hospital, UPMC South Fayette

Brayman Construction was subcontracted to provide specialty geotechnical services in support of the construction of a new four story, 60,000-sf hospital located on 2.6 acres in South Fayette Township, PA.

Scope of work included design and installation of approximately 218-each, 27-ton capacity, 16-inch augercast pile foundations (7,079-lf).

Additional work included installation of a foundation system comprised of more than 200-each, 16-inch diameter pressure grouted rigid inclusions within the footprint of the building overlain by a fill relieving platform in order to provide settlement control.

In addition, our team participated with incorporating the principles of sustainability into this project to ensure LEED Certification was achieved.
