Multi-Phase Project: Phase

West Virginia Bridges 3019N & 3020N

Brayman’s scope of work entailed replacement of concrete bridge decks on bridges 3019N and 3020N for the West Virginia Parkways Authority. The existing decks were removed in phases and replaced with precast concrete deck panels. The closure pours between the panels were poured utilizing a mobile mixer and Rapid Set Concrete.

The decks required application of coating system comprised of a spray-applied waterproofing membrane, and also received a 2.5-inch asphalt overlay. In addition, the contract included 600-linear-feet of full depth roadway and shoulder reconstructions.
The bridge decks were replaced in two consecutive months during two separate 112-hour and 113-hour closures. Contract time specified was 225-total hours to replace both bridges. Brayman was able to complete the deck replacements 8-hours ahead of schedule.
