I-77 over Route 606 Bridge Replacement Design-Build
Brayman Construction Corporation (BCC) was contracted by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to provide design, Quality Control/Quality Assurance Management (QC/QAM), and construction services for the I-77 Over Route 606 Bridge Replacement project in Bland County, VA.
The bridge replacement is being done in phases and requires additional roadway widening to be completed to facilitate the widening of I-77in the future. Along with the bridge replacement work, the Design-Build Team(DBT) is also tasked with repairing/replacing several critical drainage items associated with Wolf Creek, a notable tributary of the New River.
Brayman’s scope includes self-performing key operations such as phased demolition of the existing structure, phased construction of the new bridge, earthwork associated with roadway widening, repairing/replacing all identified drainage structures, subcontractor coordination, and overall management of the DBT.
