VDOT H03 Bridge Rehabilitation
VDOT H03 Bridge Rehabilitation
Brayman was contracted to provide bridge rehabilitation services on the Route 11 Bridge over James River in Buchanan, VA for VDOT. The scope of work included patching the concrete superstructure, replacing expansion dams, and performing repairs to structural members.
Work on Abutment B had to be completed by Memorial Day to allow for summer tourism in the nearby recreational areas. In addition to scheduling constraints, the Team had a limited working area due to environmental sensitivities. This work also required specialty equipment, including a Hydra Platform and a Safespan scaffolding platform.
Brayman affiliate Advantage Steel & Construction also performed repairs to floor beams, curb brackets, and sidewalk brackets. Jacking and bearing replacement work was done at the expansion bearings. The project was completed with zero injuries or recordable incidents.
