Multi-Phase Project: Phase

Cochranton Truss

Brayman was contracted by PennDOT District 1-0 for replacement of the Cochranton Truss Bridge carrying SR-173 (Adams Street) over the pristine French Creek located in Crawford County, PA.  The causeway installation and existing truss demolition were accelerated to meet stringent in-stream work restrictions and an aggressive schedule.  The new 338-feet long two-lane bridge was constructed with the substructure founded on cast-in-place concrete pipe piles.  Decorative piers and abutments supported the three-spans of pre-stressed concrete beams.  New curb and sidewalk along with a new asphalt overlay of the approach roadways was also completed.
